Yesterday I played some piano for the first time in over a year. My sight reading was off, my fingers were slow but I still cherished the moment. I like to think I have kept some balance in medical school so far. I exercise, stay in touch with friends and have a regular study schedule.
The only thing I really miss is music. I haven’t played piano for far too long. My guitar quietly sits in the corner of my room collecting dust. The hustle and background sounds of medicine has slowly replaced my favoriteĀ sonatas, fugues and chords.
One day… I’ll pick it up again. One day soon I hope.

Right, you wouldn’t want to waste all the time and effort you spent back then taking lessons/exams. At least thats what my mom always tells me.
As a fellow musician about to enter med school, I can’t imagine not spending at least 15 minutes of my day in front of the piano… or any of my guitars collecting dust. Music was a big stress reliever for me back in college. I hope you could make more time for it too! š
