About
Medaholic is partly a blog to document my journey through medical school and medicine. I write about interesting ideas, strange stories and personal thoughts. I begun my adventure into medicine in 2008 and I hope that I can look back in the future at these posts and still find some of my ideals, dreams and passions that lead me to this career. By recording my memories down and reflecting on lessons learned, I hope to gain a better understanding of medicine and of myself.
The other part of Medaholic is that the Medicine of the 21st century will require collaborative efforts fromĀ physicians, nurses, therapists, assistants and patients. Medaholic is my experimental open source project. Everyone should be allowed to see how medicine is practiced, from how we diagnose diseases, what we use as treatment, all the way down to how health care workers get paid. By sharing the “code” with everyone, it is my hope that collectively we can edit and improve how we deliver health care.
There will be a lot of information on this site about premedical education, medical school admissions and medical school life. (since these are the topics I am most familiar up to this point)
This sharing and discussion of ideas and solutions is only possible with your help and input! So feel free to leave comments, feedback, and start a discussion. We are only beginning this new age of medicine and we have much to learn, so feel free to contribute.
